The
majority of the population of Bangladesh is unaware about their rights
and privileges. Especially
the women, children, minority people like aborigines are suffering a
lot due to their lack of awareness about their rights which they
cannot establish in the society. To make them aware Nabolok undertakes
various awareness-building programs on different occasions. Especially
the tribal people in its project area are provided with legal
awareness and legal aid support to recover their dispossessed lands by
the local influential groups.
Nabolok brings out posters, leaflets on human rights and child
rights, holds meetings, seminars, discussion sessions, rallies on
different occasions with the participation of the community people in
order to bring about a positive change in the society.

Advocacy
Campaigns:
Nabolok
has taken various advocacy activities on human rights, Land Rights, Women
rights and empowerment, Environmental hazards, Governance & Democracy
etc. In 2005 Nabolok has formed the Fakirhat Upazilla Climate Committee
including the 4 Union Parishad (Fakirhat, Bahirdia, Naldha-Moubogh & Mulghar) and the civil
society members for advocacy to mitigate the waterlogging in Fakirhat,
which has caused loss of occupation for the owners of those lands and
pushed them down into poverty. The committee organized a dialogue with the
Upazilla administration on March 21, 2005.
