Natural Resource Management:

Nabolok always gives serious attention to Natural resource management (like environment, forestry, agriculture, fisheries & bio-diversity sectors). In the early nineties Nabolok started its environmental activities through tree plantation and Nursery establishing program. From 1993 to 1995 Nabolok had implemented `Greenery Movement for Environment protection & income generation' project with the help of `VESTENAKTIE' Netherlands. Through the project Nabolok has been educating people to plant trees and to ensure the availability of plants, it has established its own nursery. Besides, it has been providing supports to its beneficiaries for raising nurseries.

Climate Change & Nabolok:
In Bangladesh, vulnerability to environment threats is not a new issue but the impacts of global warming will magnify the problem. Being a low-lying deltaic plain with most of its land barely above sea level, Bangladesh has the possibility of losing 15-17% of its total landmass within the next 50 years due to sea level rise. Realizing the situation Nabolok has stared Reducing Vulnerability to Climate Change (RVCC) project from March 2003 to build up the coping capacity of the vulnerable people of southwest Bangladesh.

Reducing Vulnerability to Climate Change is the first initiative of its kind in Bangladesh. The project is funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA) through CARE Bangladesh. Nabolok is involved in implementing this project in Fakirhat Upazilla of Bagerhat District. Under this project Nabolok is trying to develop coping capacity of 1200 vulnerable households and building capacity of 4 UPs to address climate change.

Nabolok also established a network on climate change with two like minded NGOs. The network is called Network on Climate Change Bangladesh (NCCB), funded by Bread for the World-Germany. Under the project Nabolok will collect, disseminate climate change related information through its resource center. Nabolok will also organize regional and national level workshop for mainstreaming the climate change issue and advocacy to the policy makers.
