Good Governance:

Nabolok believes that good governance is an integral part of any development initiative and to establish people's rights, good governance is a prior requirement. So from the very beginning Nabolok took various steps to establish good governance in organization level and in the present socio-political structures. To achieve the objective of good governance, Nabolok took it as one of the main cross-cutting issue like gender development. For that reason Nabolok has an initiative to enhance the issue of good governance in all its projects and activities. Nabolok also took a big initiative for establishing good governance in the local government through strengthening the first tier of elected people's representatives.

Good Governance:

Local Government and Linkage to Community

Local government can neither be effective nor beneficial to the community unless there is a strong linkage between the two. Nabolok's approach of linking People's Institutions likes the "Gono Unnayan Committee", "Union Federation of Primary Groups" and "Union Gender Committee" has shown that such linkages are not only possible, but also worthwhile.

Capacity building and strengthening the Local Government

The Chairpersons and members of Union Parishads in Fakirhat Upazilla used to be provided with training of various kinds under the BftW project implemented until 2003 and even at present, they are included in our various activities under the Nabolok-CARE RVCC Project being implemented in Fakirhat.
