Urban Poor Development Program:

The ever increasing number of land-less households and diminishing job opportunities in the rural areas compel people to migrate to the towns and cities in search of employment. Already destitute, they do not have a decent place to live in. They find shelter in overcrowded slums without any sanitation and other facilities.Nabolok promotes various awareness campaigns & health education activities in the urban slums under Khulna City Corporation (KCC). Those slums are located in ward nos 20, 24,25, of  Sonadanga thana and ward no 27& 31 of  Khulna Sadar thana. Under this activity Nabolok has formed 34 primary groups in the respective 5 wards consisting of 682 members, of them only 65 are male and rest 617 are female. The urban poor development project also contains a micro-credit component.
